I really love this edition of the newsletter. Fellow academic waiving hello this is a much needed boost for the last week of classes. I think I might give my students copies of the paperweight.
Love all of this! I think of that Annie Dillard quote a lot when working on my Substack. Every little thing feels like fodder for its own post--and maybe it will be!--but best to put it all in now. Like when coaches told us to leave everything on the field.
That is totally another aspect of it. And maybe it will be! Sometimes I feel like if I mention something once I can't say anything else about it ever again, like that was my one shot. But the creative process tends to circle around things. It'll show up again, I know it.
Loved getting to read through this! (and thank you for the very kind reference!) The Austin Kleon note was just what I needed to hear and the paperweight idea is brilliant! Thank you for sharing!
LOVE this creativity! We're a graphic design agency in Paris, our substack is geared towards young designers, we share tips and tricks from our biggest projects with our clients like TIKTOK and SONY. Would you be interested in guest posting on our substack to share a tip or two with young designers?
Okay but that phone PDF should be made into a permanent ceramic dish. Love it.
Oooo I like that idea. I should look into that...

Yes, and if we've learned anything from teaching, iteration is necessary!
